Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who is a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) was an American television reporter, anchor as well as a journalist. Curry was perhaps most well-known as a correspondent on the Today Show, a popular morning news program broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry is famous for reporting emergencies and disasters that affect the human condition which are particularly prevalent in countries that have been devastated by conflict. Curry's maternal grandmother is Japanese and her father is an American Navy sailor. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents met when her father was serving in Japan. Her father served in the military and her family moved frequently. Curry attended high school in the city of Ashland, Oregon. She graduated in 1978 at in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Curry wasn't able to go to a single school for over a period of more than two years, as her family frequently moved. Her schooling was in Alameda, San Diego and Virginia. After graduation, she graduated at the age of 22 from Ashland the high school. In Medford the city she was born, she began her broadcast career as a KTVL Channel 10 intern. When she was 22, she became the station's first female news reporter. She later became an anchor/reporter at KGW which was located in Portland Oregon. She moved back into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. During her time with the station for seven years that she earned the two Emmy Awards.
